Working with a Coach
Connect a human coach, understand what they can see, manage notifications, and revoke access.
Coach Watts supports both AI coaching and optional human coaches. This page covers the athlete side of a coaching relationship.
Connect a coach
Common paths:
| Path | What you do |
|---|---|
| Coach invite link / email | Open the link your coach sent and accept while signed in |
| Your coach code | Open Coaching → My Coaches (or equivalent), generate an invite code, send it to your coach |
| Coach Start page | Submit the public intake form; wait for the coach to approve the request |
Invitations can expire (coach-generated share and email invites typically last seven days). Ask for a new invite if yours expired.
You always keep your own login. Coaches do not need—and should not ask for—your password. See Permissions & Privacy for the coach-side model.

What your coach can see
Connected coaches with a valid relationship can typically review training data, plans, and AI recommendations you share through that relationship. Exact visibility depends on the connection type and any team roles involved.
They can schedule and adjust workouts on your calendar from the coach workspace. They cannot sign in as you.
Message Athlete vs real messages
If your coach uses Message Athlete, that action opens their AI Chat with context about you. It does not send you an email or in-app direct message. Agree on a human channel (email, messaging app, or Telegram if you use it) for back-and-forth conversation.
Notifications
Manage email preferences under your profile communication settings (training guidance, weekly reports, product updates). In-app notifications also surface background jobs such as plan generation and analysis.
Threshold or coaching alerts depend on what you and your coach configure; keep Settings → Sports thresholds accurate so suggested changes make sense.
Revoke access
- Open your coaching connections (Coaching → My Coaches or the athlete coaching panel).
- Remove or revoke the coach relationship.
- Confirm the coach disappears from the connected list.
Revoking stops future coach access to your private data through that relationship. Workouts already completed remain in your history.
